چکیده
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is becoming more widely used in the field of dentomaxillofacial radiography, but its utility for bone quality assessment still limited. This study was conducted to describe use radiomorphometric examination and fractal dimensions (FDs) osteoporosis risk detection through CBCT elderly patients. Medical databases (PubMed, Scopus, Elsevier, Directory Open Access Journals (DOAJ)) were searched using keywords osteoporosis, radiomorphometric, dimension, analysis. The search limits applied available full-text articles, publication years 2012-2021, articles published English. Then, included systematically reviewed following Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses. A total four studies this review. Seven indices used, most adopted from panoramic radiographs, such as tomographycortical index, mental other along mandible, which are S (symphysis), (anterior), M (molar), P (posterior) indices. All show similar results. These can identify osteoporosis-related changes useful screening tools on CBCT. However, all FD different methods discover heterogeneous Radiomorphometric measurement be detect patients at osteoporosis. analysis method finds research results, so it recommended standardize terms shape, size, location region interest.

PURPOSE This study aimed to evaluate the use of dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis among menopausal and postmenopausal women by using only a CBCT viewer program. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-eight menopausal and postmenopausal women who underwent dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) examination for hip and lumbar vertebrae were scanned using CBCT (f...
متن کاملComparison of transportation and centering ability using RECIPROC and iRace: A cone-beam computed tomography study
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Root canal treatment, especially in curved and constricted root canals, can be very difficult and time consuming. Several investigations have compared the reciprocating and full sequence motions in terms of shaping ability. The purpose of the present study was to compare the root canal transportation and centering ability of RECIPROC and iRace using cone-beam computed tomogr...
